One thing I have noticed is, that really upset me, was the prevalence and apparent importance of the outside appearance in the majority of the churches. There are some that if you did not wear a suit coat and tie you did not get in, and others, just if you looked different whether it was your hair, a handicap or being a special needs person, or anything else that they felt was “inappropriate” for their church they would not allow you to enter or they just made you feel really uncomfortable. I remember a couple of them, at Easter, you could hardly see the front of the church because it looked like a hat competition rather than a church service.

In the entire Bible, I cannot think of one place where God puts any kind of restriction on those that he wants to be saved.

Matthew 28:19 says;

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

As a matter of fact, if you remember Jesus concentrated on those that were “different”. These instructions covered not only the outer clothes but the undergarments as well. The undergarments were the most private and secret part of the priestly garments, which no one saw. Thus the Lord required that even their garments had to be holy. 1 Peter 2:9 says that you who are born again are now members of God’s holy priesthood this Scripture teaches us that God is not just concerned about how we live in front of others but how we live in private. As a priest of God, the Lord’s holiness, sanctification, and anointing must be the same in your private life as in your pelvic life. You must live as holy in secret as you are in public. Either in the sanctuary or alone with no one seeing you, there are no secrets before the Lord. The holiness of God must permeate every facet of your life, and so much so that you have nothing to hide. Make that your aim. For just as holy as the priest’s breastplate and a crown was his holy underwear. If we are living in the presence of the Holy Spirit it will be obvious not only to ourselves, because of the peace we feel, but to others.

Our Life May Be The Only Bible Some People Read

In traveling across the United States with a Christian training company I have attended a lot of churches all over the country.
