As Christians I\u2019m sure we all agree that it is very important to make sure that our churches are well maintained. This involves helping whenever we can to make sure that the church remains clean, especially in these times of coveted, and that we tithe to the church so that they can keep the doors open and pay the bills. We also like to make sure that we are clean and presentable before we go to church. This is all well and good but the apostle Paul told the church at Corinth that there was a little bit more to this.<\/p>\n
If you take care of the building or the place we call the church without taking care of the real temple of God, the body, you are committing the highest degree of hypocrisy. Paul asked the Corinthians\u2019, (1 Cor 3:16) Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that God\u2019s spirit dwells in you? And in 1 Cor 6:19: Paul also says; do you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which you have of God, and you are not your own?
\nThe Human body is God\u2019s dwelling place and we must take care of our bodies which are God\u2019s temple. Taking care means that our bodies must be very clean internally as well as externally, as said, \u2018cleanliness is second to Godliness\u2019.<\/p>\n
We must also make sure that we keep the body away from things which destroy, harm and defile it, like fighting, killing, immoralities, adultery, prostitution, fornication and all evil. In my opinion there are a few more areas that we always overlook. Part of taking care of ourselves, or the temple of God, also includes that we make sure we stay healthy. This means things like smoking, drinking, and having regular medical checkups with our doctor to make sure that we are healthy.<\/p>\n
Paul said this, \u2018If any man destroys the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are\u2019 (1 Cor 3:17).<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
In Paul\u2019s 2nd letter to the church in Corinth, he reminds the church (Corinthians 5:20), Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
